When the Oakland lineup was announced before the game, he received loud cheers from the A's side of the stadium. Twins ace Jose Berrios tossed two scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out four. Robbie Ray struck out three and walked two while retiring five batters in a scoreless start. Dylan Cease pitched two shutout innings in a start, allowing three hits while striking out three.

STARS 2, BLACKHAWKS 1DALLAS (AP) — Tyler Seguin scored the tiebreaking goal in the second period and Dallas beat Chicago. Blackhawks rookie Dominik Kubalik tied the game in the second period on the power play. Seguin’s goal came at 16:29 of the second. Andrew Mangiapane scored Calgary's last two goals, one of which came into an empty net at the end.

BLUES 3, DEVILS 0ST. LOUIS (AP) — Ivan Barbashev scored twice and St. Louis snapped a season-worst five-game losing streak. Nikolaj Ehlers had a goal and two assists and Patrik Laine scored a goal into an empty net and added one assist.

The Argos solidified their quarterback corps prior to free agency, re-signing McLoed-Bethel Thompson and adding former Winnipeg starter Matt Nichols. LionsGM Ed Hervey had many needs entering free agency with B.C. Calgary StampedersRarely a player on the first day of free agency in previous years, president/GM John Hufnagel addressed his needs early, signing five players alone Tuesday. Before free agency, the GM extended Canadian offensive lineman David Beard and starting quarterback Trevor Harris.

And before noon, Sunderland signed American quarterback Logan Kilgore and Canadian defensive tackle Mark Mackie to contract extensions. Traditionally they're not busy when CFL free agency begins but president/GM John Hufnagel told reporters Monday that could change this year. The Argos also landed defensive lineman Alex Bazzie (Edmonton) Craig Roh (Winnipeg) and receiver DaVaris Daniels (Edmonton). — Montreal re-signed veteran American defensive back Ciante Evans and added Americans Tyquwan Glass and Marloshawn Franklin to its secondary.
