Nic Geddert - Elmwood
What key issues / topics will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?
I will stand for human rights wherever they are threaten; by the threat of ‘parental rights’, by misguided economists that don’t understand the social value that underpins economic value. I will stand with community organizations struggling to find resources to provide food programs like BAG. I will stand with ChalmersNRC, ECRC, and others providing services to newcomers, developing employment opportunities and resources within Elmwood.
I will stand up to protect trans youth, queer youth, at risk youth. I will build and support our community alongside youth who are working to give themselves hope for the future. I will stand up to protect their safe spaces, nurture innovation and creativity as a community expression.
I will work towards action on the calls to truth and reconciliation. I believe this is something we need to take seriously, complete, and actualize before we can take ourselves seriously as a society.
